Sesame Oil

Perfect for Skin care & Detoxification

Sesame oil is one of humanity's first cultivated plants and probably the oldest oil plant – in India, it is the most widely used skin care oil and serves as the base oil for all Ayurvedic massages. At the Pravaha Massage München gently matured sesame oil from certified organic cultivation is used. Matured means, that the oil is briefly heated during the ripening process so that it opens up and becomes more fluid. This allows it to be absorbed more easily into the skin and unfold its effects even more effectively.

And this effect is enormous and multifaceted:

Detox treatment for the skin

Regular application of sesame oil (approx. 2-3 times per week) is an effective detoxification treatment for our largest respiratory organ: the skin. This is because sesame oil activates the metabolism and promotes the skin's excretory function. Once the oil has been absorbed into the tissue (approx. 10-15 minutes), it absorbs waste products, which are then washed away during a subsequent shower or bath. This detoxifies the skin and allows it to breathe again.

Anti-Aging Effect

Sesame oil is a real beauty booster: it rejuvenates cell metabolism and reduces premature skin aging. It does this by preventing oxidation processes and supporting collagen binding through vitamins and fat-accompanying substances (sesamol & sesamolin). This provides lasting protection for the cells, tightens the skin and prevents cellulite thanks to the included antioxidants.

Stimulating and performance-enhancing

In general, sesame oil has a warming effect, stimulates circulation and promotes blood flow. This is because the linoleic acid it contains supports the cardiovascular system. Furthermore, the oleic acid aids digestion by stimulating bile secretion and the high lecithin content improves memory performance.

Silky-smooth skin

Many people want smooth, soft skin and often rely on expensive pharmaceutical products. However, nature offers a cheaper and, above all, more effective remedy: sesame oil opens the pores, creates a uniform complexion and makes the skin supple and elastic again.

Practice

After a massage, allow the sesame oil to soak in and then shower off at home using mild soap. This will flush out toxins and leave a protective, light film of oil on the skin. For private use, gently massage the oil into the skin, allow it to soak in for 10-15 minutes and then shower or bathe.

Pleases note:
Daily use is not recommended in most cases, as the skin will otherwise become accustomed to the high fat content of sesame oil.

To achieve optimal results, most skin types require 1-2 applications per week – as a detoxifying and nourishing skin treatment.

 Other areas of application

Mouth rinsing: “oil pulling”

In the morning, take a sip of mature sesame oil on an empty stomach, swish it around in your mouth, pull it through the spaces between your teeth and spit it out again after about 10-15 minutes – do not swallow it, as the oil absorbs bacteria, viruses and fungi from the oral mucosa. In addition to a cleansing, detoxifying effect on the entire body, teeth and gums also benefit from this procedure. This is because sesame oil contains a lot of calcium. It reduces plaque and bad breath, strengthens the gums and prevents tooth decay. Oil pulling can also have positive effects as a supportive treatment for chronic diseases such as arthritis, migraines and heart disease.

A little tip for the “little ones”

Sesame oil is ideal for baby skin. It provides gentle and effective relief for irritated, inflamed skin and other skin irritations – it alleviates acute symptoms, has a cooling effect and does not clog pores. Sesame oil is also excellent for removing cradle cap: rub it into your baby's scalp, leave it on for two to three hours and then wash it out with a mild shampoo.
